About Children Yoga
Children are like a canvas, absorbing paints and colors easily, they
will pick, imitate and learn from all influences that they are exposed
to. Yoga is invaluable to children, providing the opportunity to develop
a supple, healthy physical body while stimulating creative thinking and
intellectual growth. Yoga controls and soothes emotions, removing
anxiety through stretching and breathing, and enhances mental focus and
physical performance. As well as improved self-esteem, the relaxation
benefits help children to sleep and rest. Learning to breath with
awareness may help kids to control their anger (releasing negativity and
excess energy) and can give shy ones more confidence and
self-acceptance. It also helps keep bones healthy, strong and aligned.
Balancing poses enhance focus, grace and concentration. They awake
creativity and fine-tune the mind. With regular practice a child will
become `whole', possess a sound body and sound mind.
